The Bloomberg 50 for 2018 came out highlighting those who changed the global business game in 2018. It showcased people who broke the 2018’s equation in both measurable and quantifiable ways. Many old names from 2017 are included in the list; there are many new faces who made it to the Bloomberg 50, 2018.
One such name and only Pakistani in the list is Careem ‘s co-founder Muddasir Sheikha. He made his place in the list with other big names like Mukesh Ambani, Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos and the Canadian Foreign minister Chrystia Freeland.
The CEO and co-founder of the Careem have been included in the technology and science category of Bloomberg 50 2018. He grew into mass transit and deliveries by raising $200 million in October.
Listing Muddasir Sheikha Bloomberg noted:
“Sheikha’s six-year-old company has more than 1 million drivers in the Mideast and northern Africa, allowing customers to book bikes, golf cars, rickshaws and boats, in addition to cars.”
It also stated: “Sheikha is also using his clout to support one million Arab coders, an initiative that offers Online courses in website and mobile – interface development, and he puts on a hackathon in Ramallah and an artificial intelligence- oriented summer camp in the United Arab Emirates.”
